We took the doggies to the Redhead Beach after graduation on Saturday and I'm pleased to report that they behaved perfectly. We let them both off the lead and they came when called every time. Hey Terri! I took Robbie for a walk today along the main road near my house and he didn't react to any cars. When a bus came or something that I thought would set him off I got him to sit or lay down. If it wasn't for your help with training I don't think Robbie and I would have reached this point. You gave me the tools to succeed though.
It took a bit of time and there is still more to work on but I'm so happy. It is such a leap forward Thanks Terri. I found the session invaluable – I appreciate your insights into dog (and human) behaviour and motivation, plus I think you’ve given me achievable steps to work with. Murphy completely flaked last night – she went to sleep on my bed just after I fed them and she’s still there. I do like that result of the training.
The first day Terri came to the house Frida immediately went to her with tail wagging. Terri taught us such useful training strategies on how to distract her but also positively reinforce her. I would practice these strategies daily with Frida and what I love is that Terri only uses positive reinforcement techniques. We are now able to pass skateboards, scooters and other dogs with mostly no reaction at all or if she does occasionally still react the magnitude is much more manageable and she calms down much quicker. My only regret is that I didn’t get in touch with Terri sooner and now my beautiful dog is more relaxed in herself.
Terri works wonders with dogs and dog parents alike. Fabulous training, small class size, positive, fun and sets you up to continue training at home after course. Great to reinforce the basic skills from puppy preschool and gain some useful skills particularly loose lead walking. Both my dog and I enjoyed and benefited from the classes. Blossom used to become hyper excited when she saw other dogs but now she is much better behaved (and so am I). Terri was extremely knowledgeable and this course gave me the confidence to work positively with my dog. Edie is so much more responsive to me and calmer around other people. It was also fun to bond with her and see her improving every week. Terri , you are a miracle worker. Pebbles is responding so well to training it's like she's a different dog compared to a few days ago considering she just started her training yesterday. Thank you for your time & showing me how to cope with such an enthusiastic & excitable dog because I truly had no idea. Me & Pebbles are now enjoying each other's company & having a big well deserved cuddle. Thanks Terri, You Rock.
Thank you Terri. We had a great time and learned a lot of tools that will help us to be better dog owners. Would recommend your lessons to everyone! Terri's training helped me to have more confidence when training Mia and showed me that we could achieve the results I wanted. So happy I came to this training. I have learnt so much about my dogs and I am no longer apprehensive to introduce them to our new baby. Terri has a very hands on and friendly way of training both you and your dog in a positive way in an intimate group. Can't recommend highly enough.
We have just finished our lessons with Terri. She was so good & so full of information no matter the issue. and She NEVER uses punishment! We both really enjoyed Terri's Foundation Program. Great course. Thanks for being flexible with timing of training due to our puppy’s illness. Terri was very calm and non-judgemental. She is a fantastic trainer. Very calm and
encouraging and knowledgable. I would highly recommend her in-home puppy training.It was a great way for us to transition our puppy to our family. The Foundation program has been a great experience for us to learn how to communicate with our puppy in a positive manner. We loved learning the positive reinforcement techniques and feel that we have the confidence to continue training our puppy at home. The small group felt like a private lesson, the materials and links provided by Terri are invaluable and Terri is a wealth of knowledge and patience. We would highly recommend Dog Training Newcastle and the Foundation Program for all dog owners. Terri impressed us both with her effective communication and dedication to her role. Thanks for a fun 6 weeks, it was great knowing that I was on the track with Stella's training and being able to challenge her with a different and distracting environment. She did so much better than I thought she would, I thought she would need the barriers but she pleasantly surprised us, she seemed to really enjoy being put to work! Much more confident to try more activities with her and know that she can focus on me. Thanks again! I liked learning skills and strategies, one-on-one, and the customised lessons which dealt with my dog's specific issues and how I could learn to improve them. You are very calm, very positive and very encouraging. I enjoyed the lessons and appreciate your skill and expertise. DD Before Terri's classes Evie could not be around other dogs without wanting to run over and play with them. She could not sit or wait or loose lead walk. Now, thanks to Terri and her positive reinforcement training classes she has greatly improved. Greatest benefit? Evie could be around other dogs but still concentrate on me. That didn't happen before the lessons! Liked most? The individual attention and positive reinforcement. Great program. Everything was explained well, handouts were great, lots of one-on-one time. Terri and Mary were wonderful! Tia loved the class and both of you. I could not rate Terri highly enough. My beautiful 2 year old Rottweiler, Frida, was a bit sensitive to skateboards, scooters and border collies and would get reactive. She later started to react to other breeds. She also would shy away sometimes when new people came to the house.
Terri helped me with Winston and the training has made such a big difference. It is a work in progress. I now know what to do and importantly when his stress is high and to go home and give him time to destress before our next walk. Thank you Terri my relationship and bonding with Winston is better than I imagined since I have trained and implemented what you taught me.
We got our beautiful puppy Pixie from the RSPCA a bit sooner than we planned to get a puppy and we had been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the information we were reading online. Pixie was 3 months old when we got her and with 3 children at home, we found that we wanted information in an easier format than reading through pages of questionable and often conflicting advice online. Terri was the perfect solution for our family and she patiently and gently taught us what Pixie needed in these early days. She was quick to offer advice on all our queries/concerns and Pixie responded so quickly and happily to all the new tricks we learnt! We are looking forward to doing some more sessions with Terri in the future. Thank you, Terri, for all the time you spent with us.
I wanted to let you know I took Millie for two lovely walks today both of them on the five-meter lead. She absolutely loved it because she had plenty of space to run around and sniff things at her leisure, and I loved it because I wasn’t dealing with a constantly pulling dog and having to stop and stand still every couple of minutes to let her sniff something. 
Thank you for helping us understand our little pup! With her hip problem now addressed (thanks to you!) and the positive training methods we’ve noticed a much more relaxed Cherry out in public. All three of us appreciate your guidance beyond measure!

We have seen enormous improvement in our little Alice. The combination of medication and the training with Terri has worked a treat. The aggression when on-lead towards other dogs has diminished hugely - we can now walk Alice using the techniques Terri has taught us, which we are so thrilled about. We don’t ever take her anywhere off-lead – dog-parks or the beach – we think it’s better to avoid those situations entirely. Thank you so much for helping us with our girl. You have made a huge difference to us. I feel much more confident in being able to deal with situations with Alice now.
